China Keemun

China Keemun tea originates from the Qimen County in Anhui Province, eastern China. The name "Keemun" is the English translation of "Qimen". Keemun tea is known for its narrow, tightly twisted black leaves. When brewed, it produces a brilliant reddish-brown cup with a full-bodied, light, toasty flavor. The tea has layers of flavor, including smoky, malty, and a hint of nuttiness, along with a light floral aroma. The tea leaves are slowly withered and oxidized, which enhances both aroma and flavor. The leaves are then rolled to bring out the deep flavors held in the enzymes and juices, followed by baking or firing to remove excess moisture.
